UAP Drama Club arranged a Drama Workshop "Upgrading Stage Presence" at Shilpakala Academy


UAP Drama Club, one of the central clubs of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) successfully organized a workshop for the students of the University of Asia Pacific on 17th February 2024 at the Shilpakola Academy from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Mr. Fahim Maleque Evan, Assistant Professor, Department of Drama and Dramatics, Jahangirnagar University, served as the workshop's resource person.

Mr. Evan concentrated on a variety of acting exercises and techniques throughout the workshop, including movement, characterization, group work, and improvisation using a multiplicity of instances. With an array of entertaining and stimulating exercises, the programme sought to empower pupils and help them uncover their hidden talents. He went into great length about the rehearsal process and stage fundamentals.

In addition, he provided some crucial pointers and advice about public acting. He gave them confidence boosts and helped them hone their communication skills by getting them involved in a variety of activities. Each participant in this session was instructed to develop an idea and perform it at a later time. Following their performance, Mr. Evan gave them criticism on a variety of topics, including physicality, gestures, speech patterns, and movements. There was also a question-and-answer period near the end of the session.
Lastly, certificates were given to all participating students.
