A seminar titled "In Need of Social Engineers" was held in Room No. 614 on the 6th floor of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Asia-Pacific (UAP) on October 7, 2024. The event featured Mr. Zahir Uddin Ahmed as the chief guest, with Dr. Sayeed Ahmed, adjunct faculty member at the Department of Civil Engineering, as the moderator of the whole program.
The guest speaker, Mr. Zahir Uddin Ahmad, is an esteemed international resource person and senior water management expert with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. He brings extensive expertise in water resources management through significant leadership roles. Previously, he served as the team leader of the Water Resources Management Division at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Bangladesh. His experience also includes advising on water resources management for the Royal Dutch Embassy in Bangladesh.
The seminar began with an introductory overview of the topic, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of social engineering.
